Wander around Verona
Verona is the city of love, the city of the star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. With its maze of narrow streets, its hilly landscape with a breathtaking view dominated by Castel San Pietro and its famous bridge Ponte Pietra – a combination of white marble and red brick – crossing the Adige river, Verona is the ideal destination for a romantic getaway.
But if you think this is all Verona has to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised. Verona is the temple of music and opera thanks to the Arena – an impressive monument which became Verona’s symbol and is nestled at the very heart of the city- and the Teatro Romano.
Verona will enchant you with its architecture, a rich tapestry that intertwines Roman buildings with medieval ones like the mighty Basilica of San Zeno, Gothic monuments, and Renaissance palaces.
And if during your visit you do not want to miss out on some shopping, just enjoy a stroll along Via Mazzini or through Piazza Erbe and you will surely fall in love with the city’s boutiques.
